In what can be called as a gross violation of ceasefire agreement Pakistan has resorted to another act of terror. Reports say a heavily armed group of terrorists supported by Pakistani rangers attacked an Indian army patrol along the LOC in Poonch sector of Jammu & Kashmir. This has resulted in the death of five Indian army soldiers.

All of them belonged to the 21 Bihar Regiment and it is heard that the firefight took place around 450 meters inside Indian territory. So far, Pakistani violations have touched nearly 33 times just this year but this incident has flared up tensions across the border. Delhi has expressed severe displeasure over the killing.

The parliament as usual was up in roars with opposition parties attacking the government for their soft stand. With PM Manmohan Singh and Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif scheduled to meet each other at UN Convention next month, this turn of events has seriously put a spanner in the peace process. One thing is clear, there will be no reciprocation to this attack from India. The people will curse the Pakistan government for two to three days and everyone will forget.
