In the recent survey conducted by ministry of home affairs and quality council of India, it has been declared that the RS Puram B2 police station in Coimbatore is the best in the country, and union minister Rajnath Singh awarded DGP Rajendran and station officer Jothi for the achievement of TN Police. The Punjagutta police station in Hyderabad was ranked second.
A senior cop, expressing pride over the achievement stressed that
the Tamilnadu police will strive towards developing all police stations similar
to RS Puram B2 police station. Chennai's Anna Nagar police station was ranked
5th best. The trophies for best police stations were presented by union
minister Rajnath Singh at Bsf academy, Madhya Pradesh.
The Telangana police explained that the central government had devised a strategy to rank the best 10 police stations of the nation, in an attempt to improve the quality of policing and services to society, and even expressed that they had already expected two of the police stations from Hyderabad to be in top 10. The Telangana police have been adopting different methods like friendly policing, with good usage of technology and serving people better.
