A woman residing in Chennai suffered from a massive heart attack after fraudsters faked to be bank officials and robbed 90 thousand rupees from her account. Tahsildar Shekar was residing with his father Rajendran, as treasury officer and his mother Jayalakshmi, at Chennai Anna Nagar 4th Street. Jayalakshmi, 70 , had an account at Indian bank. 



On Friday, she had received a call from an unknown number, and the person who communicated, introduced himself as a bank officer, and spoke fluent English. He told her that her ATM card has expired, and asked her card number so that he can issue a new ATM card. As Jayalakshmi believed him to be the bank officer, she had told him the 16 digit ATM card number, and then he also asked her to note and tell him the one-time Password received in her mobile phone. As Jayalakshmi said the one time password received in her phone, the call was disconnected.

In few minutes, rupees ninety thousand was deducted from her account, and the next day when Jayalakshmi went to the Indian bank to get her new card, they suspected that it might be a case of fraud, and found that 90 thousand was stolen from her account. It was then noticed that Jayalakshmi suddenly faced severe heart attack and fell unconscious, and as the treatment failed, she passed away.  As a case was filed in Tirumangalam police station, it has been found that the call was made by fraudsters from Uttarakhand.
