This Wednesday, January 31, will witness a phenomenon that hasn't happened in the past 150 years - a Super moon, a blue moon, and a lunar eclipse, all on the same day! While Blue moon occurs in the month's second full moon(once in every 2 and half years) and the lunar eclipse occurs when sun, moon and earth (in the middle) are in the same line, and Super moon(which is almost 30% bright than full moon) happens when moon comes as a full moon in a single orbit as earth.

Though it is difficult to distinguish between different sizes of the moon with naked eye, the size of the moon will be easily visible when seen through silhouette of buildings and tall structures. NASA Scientists have also revealed that the moon will have reddish hue, terming them as blood moons. As said by TN science and technology center director P Iyyamperumal, the moon will be seen as a partial shadow by 4:21 pm, further more by 5:18,and complete darkness by 6:21, and the partial and total lunar eclipses might happen by 8:41 and 7:37 pm respectively.
