It has been found that, former AIADMK member Sasikala has been violating the prison rules of meeting visitors once in 15 days. The right to information act came in handy, in identifying this act of crime. It's a known fact that, Sasikala, Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran are imprisoned at parpana agrahara prison at Bengaluru, in the disproportionate assets case.
It was complained last year itself that Sasikala was enjoying several benefits in the prison, as she had 5 rooms in a special cell, with a kitchen, and prison department DIG Roopa had made accusations on prison department ADGP Sathyanarayana that he had received a bribe of 2 crores in return for the benefits in prison. After an enquiry by a commission headed by senior IAS officers, it was revealed that Sasikala had enjoyed several benefits, and Sasikala along with Ilavarasi had even gone for shopping. Using RTI, a leading English Magazine has obtained the list of visitors who met Sasikala in jail.
It was found that , Vivek Jayaraman
and his wife had met Ilavarasi on 26/04/2017, and within 10 days, met
again on May 6, which is a clear violation of prison rules of meeting
visitors only once in 15 days. similarly, Sasikala's advocate Ashokan had
also met her twice within 10 days and Vivek Jayaraman had met her on
February 16,17, while it was also found she was meeting people on daily basis
on February 18,19,21,23 etc. Even TTV Dinakaran who met her after RK Nagar
by election victory, had been inside for 3 hours and mentioned in the register
as 45 minutes. Such acts of meeting visitors frequently are seen as a violation
of prison rules.
