Congress president Rahul Gandhi attended a concert in Meghalaya, in an attempt to connect with young voters of the north eastern state ruled by Congress for 15 years. He spoke for five minutes at 'Festival of Peace' concert and listened to the prominent musical bands like 'Soul mate', 'Empirical Tribe' and cultural troupes Khasis, Jaintias, and Garros, who was seen entertaining a crowd of 4,000.
Rahul said that people are strong when they stand together in diversity, and nation's strength is its culture, languages, various ways of thinking. He also asked the youth to offer love and respect for each other and make India strong, avoiding fights against each other, and spreading unnecessary hatred, which actually leads of weakening of the country, disrespecting the traditions and culture of out Rahul insisted on being proud of the rich heritage, language, etc, by adding that the Congress party is proud of them and will defend their way of thinking.
Rahul also emphasized that every
individual from every state has space in India, expressing that the dreams and
aspirations of people are equally important, despite being bigger or smaller
ones. Congress party had organized the concert to woo youngsters for the
upcoming February 27 elections.
