According to sources from this budget it is expected that farmers seem to be the main focus on Budget 2018. Accordingly Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has announced higher MSP for farmers along the launch of operation green to boost produce. Meanwhile this is the Narendra Modi government’s first post-GST and last pre-poll Budget and is expected to provide Income Tax and Corporate tax relief along with farm sops.
Sources have reported that Jaitley’s
fifth Union Budget is arguably his toughest yet as he seeks to address farm
distress, create jobs and boost growth while sticking to fiscal prudence and
negotiating a tricky GST twist. Jaitley said to tackle the problem of
pollution due to burning of crop residue, the subsidy is being removed. By
March 19 loans to women self-help groups of women to be increased to 75,000 crore.
Moreover women below poverty line
will receive free gas connection. The government will be progressing towards
universal health coverage and Rs 600 crore corpus is being set up to help
Tuberculosis patients. This will build a new India in 2022 and enhance
productivity and will also generate lakhs of jobs for women.
As per latest news government will
soon announce measures to address non-performing assets of MSMEs. As far
as education sector is concerned integrated BEd program to start soon, with
teachers training as the main focus. Moreover Rs 1 lakh crore to be invested
over the next 4 years for a new drive to boost Research and Development.
