According to sources journalist Purnima Sriram has become the target of a few perverts and is being harassed online for her comments on a TV show here for a week now. Meanwhile the journalist was part of a debate on Ram Gopal Varma's latest controversial film God, Sex and Truth by a Telugu news channel. The journalist spoke againstsexism and other vulgar comments against women.
According to Purnima, she went to the TV Channel for an interview with RGV and it so happened that they asked her to sit in the debate on the women's side. She said "Many needless comments were made against women in the program and this irked her".
Moreover she said on Facebook without understanding the context, social media was flooded with memes, many of the messages were sexually explicit and abusive and has been trolled and publicly humiliated for over a week now. Further in fact, she has become a victim of vicious attacks for no fault of hers. Purnima will soon approach the police and file a formal complaint.
