In a shocking move in the sensational Feb 2017 actress abduction and assault case in Malayalam film industry, many important pieces of evidence pertaining to the case were handed over to the 8th accused, actor Dileep. Dileep was in fact considered to be the master brain behind the planned attack and was also suspected of getting services of a quotation gang to kidnap the actress, molest and video graph the horrific act. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) handling the case, handed over six CCTV visuals the car belonging to the actress being driven in Thrissur to Kochi stretch, the  statements of first accused Sunil Kumar / Pulsar Suni, and two forensic reports of mobile phones accused number 2 and 4,besides 187 documents associated with evidence collection. 

The Angamaly Magistrate Court had ordered the prosecution to hand over the above-said evidence, after Dileep moved in the court, requesting him to get hold of the evidence, comprising of assault visuals. The court is however yet to decide on accepting Dileep's request to view the assault visuals and this part of the plea will be dealt on February 7. Dileep had filed the petition at Angamaly Magistrate Court in January, to get all the evidence, saying that, though a woman's voice was audible in the assault visuals, the police hadn't even inquired on the identity of the lady.

Despite his argument and reasoning, the prosecution side was against Dileep accessing assault visuals, following which The  Angamaly magistrate Court ordered the police to get an affidavit filed, as a response for the petition by Dileep's, surprisingly, even the  police were against handing over the visual evidence of the assault, arguing that Dileep is an influential person who can easily tamper or misuse the visuals to degrade and shame the victim actress.
