According to sources from London Fast food chain KFC said on Monday that it had been forced to close hundreds of its British stores because of a shortage of chicken. Sources have added that the problem arose at the weekend after the chain switched its delivery contract to DHL, forcing the majority of its 900 outlets in Britain to shut.
Meanwhile KFC said on its website that “They have brought a new delivery partner on board, but they have had a couple of teething problems getting fresh chicken out to 900 restaurants across the country is retty complex. They won’t compromise on quality, and so no deliveries means, some of our restaurants are closed and others are operating a limited menu, or shortened hours.”
Moreover DHL blamed the delivery delays on
“operational issues”. Further a spokeswoman said “They are working with KFC and
their partners to rectify the situation as a priority and apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused”.
