North Korea has been in the news of late for all negative reasons, following a heated exchange of words between Korean and American leaders, and the missile testing as well. However, without negotiations or war clouds, the tension prevailing over North Korea has subsided by itself. With such controversy cloud always surrounding North Korea, is the country really dangerous?

 


With a population of 2.5 crores, North Korea is ruled by Kim family since 1948. After wars, in 1953, China and Soviet Union came forward to join hands with North Korea. Though it was a prosperous country in the start, it turned worse following poor governance and natural disasters. Famines even lead to the death of 6 to 10 lakh people of the nation, 83% of export relationship is with China, and 97.8 million exports is with India, who both form the major trading partners. North Korea has a separate time zone names Pyongyang, and a special Juche calendar since 1997. After Kim Jong came to power, fencing has been made all over south border, with people using Chinese mobiles severely punished.

Many countries like US have mandated their citizens not to travel to North Korea, and there are so many restrictions in any travel to the country. With the missile testing, the tiff between US and North Korea has reached a whole new level, and though many countries are in a good relationship with the country, only China has been the major friendly nation. With just 20-30% of the population trusting the rule, many people wish to migrate to South Korea.
