Singer Papon has been charged with a criminal case, as a harassment case was filed against him, following his activities in a Holi celebration along with contestants of a music reality show judged by him, and has been booked on charges of kissing a minor inappropriately.
The video of the incident has gone viral, and Papon is seen applying colors on the girl and kissing her much to the shock of the girl and the viewers. A complaint has been filed by Run Bhuyan, a Supreme Court lawyer, as this is a sexual assault. Papon is currently judging Voice India Kids 2018 with Himesh Reshammiya, and it was during this show that he did the act.
The lawyer said that his act of
inappropriate kissing of a minor girl was a criminal offence, and that she's
much concerned now about the safety and security of girls participating in such
reality shows. She further also added that strict guidelines must be on place
to govern the making of these shows.
