An engineering student from Andhra Pradesh had a tragic death, as he fell into the train tracks, trying to board a running train, as he slipped. Venkatadri Reddy, a student from Bapatla tried to board a running train at Chirala station of Prakasam district.
The student had to board the train for an educational fest held in Chennai and had boarded the Chennai central - Hyderabad express train. As Venkatadri had got down at Chirala for a break, he tried to board the train, as it started. The CCTV video grabbed in the station shows two men running in the opposite direction of the train, and later as one of them boards the train, the other, Venkatadri slips, and falls into the track, with his torso sticking out.
CRPF has filed a case under section
174c, and it was found that both Venkatadri and his friend had got from a
different coach and tried getting some other coach at end, and Venkatadri tried
holding on to a door handle but he slipped and fell. The officials from the
railway department have once again issued warning to people against usage of
mobiles standing near doors and boarding of running trains.
