Islamabad sources reported that Pakistani TV channel has made history by hiring a transgender news anchor. Marvia Malik, however, thinks the difficulties facing her community were far from over. She said in an interview that “They are still faced with more than their fair share of hindrances". Meanwhile Marvia also made headlines in the recent past as the first Trans model to walk the ramp during a fashion week.
Sources have made a statement that Marvia was interviewed at Kohinoor News television channel three months ago and was hired the same day. She said “The life of a transgender is full of tremendous difficulties and they are all leading the same life and facing the same challenges".
Moreover after being abandoned by her family, she financed her higher
education at Punjab University by using the skills she acquired through a
beautician course. Accordingly her family is silent on her success; she said
and later revealed that her family has remained silent on the news of her
success as a news anchor.
