Ayakar Seva Kendras and the Income Tax offices across the country will remain open between March 29-31 (which are government holidays), as a move that can facilitate income tax payers and all the citizens of India subject to pay tax, file their income tax returns before financial year ending.
For the filing of the revised returns for Assessment year 2016-17 and for and belated returns of 2016-17 and 2017-18 has been set to March 31. The finance ministry of India had issued an official statement, which read that all the income tax offices throughout the nation will remain open between March 29-31, to enable filing of IT Returns, and all the related assignments on time.
As a matter of fact, March 29
and March 30 have been declared government holidays already, on occasion
of Mahavir Jayanthi and Good Friday respectively, and March 31 ,
which incidentally happens to be the last day of financial year 2017-18 happens
to be a Saturday. With Banks remaining closed on all these days, Income
tax offices and Ayakar Seva Kendras will continue to function, to help and
facilitate taxpayers.
