The Indian railways have introduced indigenous developed technically well equipped and advanced train compartments. These self propelled, semi high speed train compartments were built at Chennai's integral coach factory. The first set will be a 16 chair car coach.
The train will have both executive and non executive classes of seating. There will be 2 executive coaches and 14 non executive coaches in the train. Each of the executive coaches can accommodate a maximum of 56 passengers while each of the non executive coaches can accommodate a total maximum of 78 passengers.
These super fast coaches operate at a
speed of 160 kilometers per hour. This train, named Train 18 will be made
completely with stainless steel. With fully equipped AC services, the train
will be speed tested at 180 kilometers per hour. Train 18 will have automatic
doors, rubber on rubber floors, bio vacuum toilets. Since this train operates
without an engine, extreme pickup and break are going to be the highlights and
this will enable the train to travel faster, and thus train will be operated in
major cities.
