While it was expected that the Cauvery management's committee might be one of the agenda of the meeting convened by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the central ministers, it has been learnt that at the last moment, the Cauvery water management was removed from the agenda unexpectedly. 



It had been speculated that the prime minister is conducting the meeting to discuss with other ministers on the formation of Cauvery river water management committee, and that done decision will be taken in this regard today. This despite the fact that the deadline given by the Supreme Court for decisions on formation of Cauvery water management committee by the government, they have removed the same from today's meeting agenda.

While on one hand the Tamilnadu and Pondicherry governments have planned to file a case of disrespect of the court orders on the central government lead by Narendra Modi, on the other hand, the AIADMK MP Navaneethakrishnan has threatened that himself along with all the other MPs will commit mass suicide, if Cauvery water management committee is not formed, and thus increasing the pressure on the central government. While it was expected that following these developments, the central government will take a decision on formation of Cauvery water management committee, the recent news that it was removed from the agenda of prime minister's meeting with central ministers, has sent everyone associated in a deep state of shock.
