BJP National leader Amit Shah has said that though he might have committed a mistake, the people of Karnataka will not commit a mistake in the upcoming elections. The Karnataka state assembly elections are scheduled to be held on May 12, followed by the counting of votes on May 15, as announced by the election commission.

Even before the announcement of the election dates, BJP and Congress have been campaigning heavily with an eye on winning the elections this time. In a recent election campaign by the BJP, the BJP national leader Amit Shah made a major mistake, as he had unknowingly mentioned that Yedyurappa's government will be the most corrupt government of the country, while he had actually intended to mention Sidharamaiah 's name.

While this caused a ruckus in the BJP party, Congress team celebrated this goof up by Amit Shah, while Amit Shah himself said that he had wrongly said Yedyurappa's name. Despite this mistake, during his campaign in Mysore today, Amit Shah said towards Congress leader Rahul Gandhi that, though Congress is rejoicing his mistake, the people won't commit mistake in the elections.
