The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu had visited the parliament today to discuss with senior members of parliament over the granting of special category status to Andhra Pradesh. The CM began by paying tribute to the Gandhi statue, and entered touching the step of the parliament as a mark of respect. CBN met the NCP leaders Sharad Pawar and Supriya Sule, TMC member Derek O'Brien, MP Hemamalini, and former Jammu and Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah.
Chandrababu Naidu had made it clear with his talks to the leaders, on the failure of the government with regards to Andhra Pradesh, and its disinterest in fulfilling the promises made during bifurcation. A booklet on the list of promises made during the Manmohan Singh government was distributed among the members as well. The meeting has happened after TDP pulled out of NDA alliance and along with YSRCP tried passing a no confidence motion, which was disrupted due to AIADMK MPs protesting for Cauvery management committee formation.
CBN also came
down heavily against PM Narendra Modi, showing videos of his speeches before
2014 Loksabha elections, and assurances made. Naidu also showed video of Modi
promising that all promises under AP reorganization act will be passed, during
Amaravati foundation laying ceremony, and ended saying that he questions the PM
directly and that he must answer that, as he demands justice for Andhra
Pradesh.
