As per the report, the maximum punishment under Section 51 is six years.  Today morning Salman's lawyer Hastimal Saraswat argued for a shorter quantum of sentence. He said, “If he gets under three years, he can apply for bail right here, but if he gets a sentence for more than 3 years, he will have to apply for bail in the sessions high court”.  Previously Salman was also booked under the Arms Act as the license of the gun he allegedly used while hunting had expired. However, the charges were later dropped due to lack of evidence.
