Hyderabad sources reported that it was a great relief from the heat wave for Hyderabadis as a sudden downpour cooled the city last night. Meanwhile a few people welcomed the summer showers, commuters had a tough time after they were stuck in traffic. Accordingly the inundated roads and pot holes made it impossible to drive.
As per reports trees were also uprooted in several areas because of the thunderstorm and blocked roads as heavy rains lashed city. This downpour also left several parts of the city in dark and moreover people in areas like Kompally, Secunderabad, Bowenpally, Hyderguda, Jayanagar, Moosarambagh, Falaknuma and other regions suffered power outage.
Further the downpour followed by the gusty winds hit areas like Banjara
Hills, Jubilee Hills, Ameerpet, Kukatpally, Nampally and Erragadda hard and
hence the reason for the sudden rainfall is the cumulonimbus clouds formed over
the city. According to Indian Meteorological Department, the rainfall will also
continue for two more days.
