As the CSK matches that were initially planned in Chennai are now planned to be shifted to Pune, now the Maharashtra government has opposed to conducting matches in the Pune stadium. The Maharashtra government has also filed a case against playing matches in the Pune stadium.  

 


The IPL tournament has been progressing in an interesting manner, and Chennai Super kings have already played 2 out of their 14 matches. Out of these, one match was held at Chennai's Chepauk stadium. Due to the protests demanding the formation of Cauvery management board, the IPL match had faced several issues, and protests were done demanding the shifting of matches from Chennai and during the match, disruptive events took place with several miscreants throwing slippers into the ground.

Following this misconduct by the audience, the rest of the matches were shifted to Pune. However, now the Maharashtra government has opposed to shifting of those matches, as the state is facing severe drought, and hence it becomes impossible to give the ground for IPL. As enormous quantity of water is needed to maintain the ground, the Maharashtra government has opposed to the moving of IPL to Pune.
