As the Tamil film industry strike has been called off after 48 days, after which a consensus was reached between producers, distributors and theater owners, in a government scheduled meeting held 2 days back, Tamil films will start releasing worldwide, starting from Mercury this weekend. However people in social media have vented out their anger on the film industry.
It was the strike and protests conducted by Tamil film directors like Bharathiraja, Ameer, Seeman, Karunas, Vetrimaaran that lead to the IPL matches planned initially in Chennai getting shifter to Pune. Now, the social media netizens have questioned, why films are releasing when Cauvery management board has not been setup. People also say that as IPL diverts youth attention, even cinema does the same, and now the directors aren't protesting, why?
People have demanded the directors
who protested against IPL in Tamilnadu, to protest before the theaters till
Cauvery management board is formed. While asked on the same, director Ameer one
of the chief person in the protest against IPL in Chennai, has said that it was
left with the directors to voluntarily stop shooting and releasing films. This
response by the film industry has made netizens brand them as pure hypocrites.
