Million March, this is one word which brings the scenes of destruction on tank bund for folks in Andhra Pradesh. The day marked a new low for Telugu people as anti social elements in the guise of Telangana votaries attacked and vandalized the statues of Telugu cultural icons.
These broken statues were then tossed over into Hussain Sagar lake, which they touted to be a symbol of resistance against Andhra domination in Hyderabad. Now history has taken a full turn with reports that Seemandhra JAC is planning a ‘Million March’ in Vishakapatnam on August 25th.
Though there is no pro Telangana entities that may be targeted, it has to be nevertheless understood that such an act may lead to large scale violence in the region with speculations being rife that the agitation may go out of hand! We have to see how the government is going to deal with this one.
