Former BJP ministers Laxman chavadi and Patel who were in news for watching porn during the Karnataka assembly proceedings, have been given an opportunity to contest in the upcoming assembly elections by BJP. In 2012, the then minister Laxman Chavadi was accused of watching an adult video, even during the proceedings of the Karnataka state assembly session, and a video of the same was released.
Along with Laxman, the Environment and Ports minister Krishna Palmer, and the minister for welfare of Women and Children, Patel who were near him, were also reported to be seeing the video with him. This incident caused a huge setback for the BJP government, and due to the enormous pressure received, the 3 ministers had resigned from the cabinet then.
6 years after the shameful incident
took place, BJP has yet again given these 3 former ministers an opportunity to
contest the Karnataka State assembly elections this year. While Laxman will
contest from Adani, Patel will contest from Narkand, and Krishna Palmer will be
given one among Badami, Chitlakatta, Sakleshpur, Varuna. In the country where
there are large number of cases of sexual harassment and abuse against women
and young children, BJP, the party which rules the nation, giving opportunity
to such tainted persons, has become the talk of the political arena.
