New Delhi sources stated that outlining the agenda of his two-day visit to China, PM Narendra Modi yesterday said that he will be discussing vision and priorities for national development with his counterpart, Xi Jinping. He tweeted that "President Xi and he will exchange views on a range of issues of bilateral and global importance. We will discuss our respective visions and priorities for national development, particularly in the context of current and future international situation".



According to sources PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to reach China on April 27-28, 2018, for an informal Summit with President Xi Jinping. Meanwhile the two leaders will also review the developments in India-China relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, and the meeting assumes significance as it comes just months after an intense military standoff between the two nations over Doklam.

Media reports that no major agreements were expected to be reached at the summit, both sides have indicated that the meeting is aimed at giving an "honest try" by the two leaders to work out an understanding at the top on the future course of relations. Moreover as per report this informal discussion is going to take place for the first time after 1954.
