The board of cricket control for India BCCI has recommended cricketer Shikhar Dhawan for the Arjuna awards this year. The Arjuna award has been awarded in our country since 1961 for sportspersons who excel in their respective sports and make the nation proud with their numerous achievements in sports.
This year, the BCCI has recommended the names of cricketers Shikhar Dhawan the explosive opening batsman and Smrithi Mandhana, the most prolific women cricketer of the year, for the Arjuna awards.
Shikhar Dhawan has been in excellent
form smashing runs in both tests and 20-20 matches , and has been in the
best phase of his career. Currently he's playing in the IPL tournament for Sunrisers Hyderabad team. Smrithi Mandhana shot to fame after she single
handedly helped India to glory in last year's women's cricket world cup.
