In the recent raids conducted by police in Hyderabad in the last 2 months, 26 parents have been arrested and are in jails now. The reason behind these arrests is that they had given their children who were minors, and without license, their two wheelers to drive.
In a new law regulation to prevent road accidents, recently it was implemented that parents of children, who drive bikes without licenses and cause accidents, will be arrested. This was implemented across India. The Hyderabad police have been implementing this on a strict manner, as in 2016, there were more than 11000 cases of minors causing road accidents and in 2017, and the same had increased to a whopping 14000.
In this situation, the punishments
for the crime were done with immediate effect in Hyderabad, and in February,
1079 cases were filed, and parents of 60 minors were jailed. In March and
April, 273 cases were filed, leading to arrest of 26 parents.
