The telecommunication department has now given the permission to use mobile phones to make calls and access internet during the flight travels. In general, there has been a rule for flight passengers not to make use of mobiles or laptops during the flight travel, as the signals might impact the flight signals as well, thereby having an impact on the journey.
In such a scenario, now the required permissions for using mobiles and laptops have been given. In an official announcement made by officials belonging to the telecommunication department of Government of India, it has been mentioned that, earlier, there was a ban on usage of Mobile phones and laptops, and accessing of internet in flights, and now, the permission has been granted for the usage of Internet and mobiles in flights.
Following this announcement for
usage of cell phone and internet, new regulations are being framed, and based
on the new regulations and terms and conditions being framed, Telecom
department will coordinate with various flight service operators, and offer
services. As a first step, passengers will be able to access mobiles and
Internet during their course of flight travel across the Indian sky, as said by
the telecom department.
