Facebook mastermind Mark Zuckerberg and the Chief Product Officer Chris Cox made an announcement in the annual developer’s conference F8 that, Facebook will be coming up with a dating platform as a part of the social media app soon. Though this seems to be exciting news for youth, the same has sent shock waves across digital media giants, who are already in the forum.

Though Facebook has more than 200 million users who claim themselves to be single, whether or not it will be able to help people date and find their dates, without breach of privacy and data leaks is a matter of concern, especially after the recent Cambridge Analytica data leak fiasco.

Facebook has made a start, by placing a heart icon on top, clicking which will take the user to the dating forum, where the user can create a profile for himself, and look for a date, and Facebook will suggest probable candidates for the date, and there will be a pass button to skip to next option, and interested button to proceed with the date. Though no information was given on the launch of the feature, it will be based on the user interface and data confidentiality feature that Facebook Dating can succeed amidst the likes of apps like Tinder, JD Date, etc.
