The ongoing Seemandhra agitation for United AP is creating a record of sorts with each passing day. If sources are to be believed, then for the first time in history, prestigious Vishakapatnam port will be shutting down its operations. This has come like a big shock to the Congress high command at Delhi.

It is not yet clear whether this will be only for a single day or a prolonged one, but any halt in this business lifeline may prove disastrous in terms of economy for the region. Already, the temperature among the public towards the Telangana decision is reaching new heights in Vizag.

There are reports that there is a powerful lobby of ministers who are threatening to shut down key centres in Vizag one by one which also includes key petrochemical hubs and other industries. Unless the Central government involves to pacify the agitation, the region is bound to lose disastrously.
