The Supreme Court has transferred the rape case of the 8 years old Kashmir girl to Punjab's Pathankot court. A 7 year old girl belonging to Kathua of Kashmir was raped and killed by 7 people. All the 7 accused have been arrested already. Of the accused, several have been associated with the BJP as well as Hindutva outfits and hence BJP party members were speaking in favor of the criminals.
This had created a huge ruckus and
the case was investigated by the Kashmir court. Following public interest litigation
that there won't be any fair inquiry into the case if it is held in Kashmir
court, the Supreme Court has ordered the transfer of the case and its
investigation to Punjab's Pathankot court. 
Orders have been passed for daily investigation and reporting of the case with only exception being government holidays, besides also appointment of a special advocate from Kashmir to monitor the proceedings. Supreme Court has also ordered to provide police protection for the girl's family members as well as the advocate fighting to get justice for the girl in the case.
