Renowned Malayalam actor Kalasala Babu took his last breath as he was suffering from heart-related ailments. He was already in treatment for the past 3 months. He was admitted at Amritha Hospital in Kochi and he passed away due to cerebral hemorrhage.
He is the Son of the famous Kathakali dancer Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair and Mohiniyattam dancer Kalyanikutty Amma. He started his career as a theater artist and slowly entered the cinema. He has acted in more than 50 movies in his career. Some of his notable movies are Dileep's 'Runway', Mammootty's 'Pokkiriraja' and Mohanlal's 'Balettan'.
He made his comeback to Malayalam cinema with 'Kasthuriman' which was helmed by Lohithadas. He also acted in some negative roles. He is survived by his wife Lalitha and Children in Ireland.
