Currently there is a tug of war between pro and anti AP breakup waallahs. While the Telengana people are in a hurry to have the State broken up, those from what is called Seemandhra want it to remain united. There are demonstrations in Seemandhra region. Fortunately it has not turned violent so far. God knows whether and when it will take a turn for the worse. The Government of India under the able leadership of Sonia Gandhi is unflappable, and they are waiting it out so that the agitation will run its course and die of its own
However The ongoing Telangana or seemandhra movements seems to be scripted by Sonia Gandhi to cut her political opponents TDP,YSRCP,TRS to size. It is aimed at bringing tail wagging party like MIM to its fold once again. Though it is feeling that with its decisions it is outwitting its opponents Jagan,Chandra Babu,KCR and Owaisi, infact they are outwitting her with their witty moves with suggestions like rayala telangana, fast unto deaths, resignations etc.
Of course the Government of India is SEEN to be doing something. It has appointed a committee to look into the grievances of Seemandhras. But there is one important rider, The petitioners or pleaders before it SHOULD NOT RAISE TWO TOPICS ; STOP THE BREAKUP, OR, THE STATUS OF HYDERABAD WHICH OUR LEADER IN A VERY BENIGN MOOD, PROMISED TO KCR ( what is behind the unreasonable promise is anybody’s guess. People give free rein to their imagination and ascribe it from the bizarre to the inane) If these two are excluded, and the Madame does not want to resile, what is there for the leaders of Seemandhra to represent? Rumour has it that Sonia Gandhi dictated the Report which should be presented by the Antony Committee, as if it is their own, on the D-Day. Thus the whole exercise is just an eye wash to make the gullible believe that the UPA has gone into all aspects.
Meanwhile the Telengana leaders are pleading with the Seemandhra agitators that they should not object to the breakup, but should meekly vanish from the scene. The promise is that Telengana people and leaders will be friendly with Seemandhra people once they succumb. Really silly, isn’t it? What prevents them from being friendly now? It was the Telenganites for instance, who bashed up Samaikyandhra people who wanted to hold a meeting in Nalgonda . It was they who rained stones on Jaganmohan Reddy people when they came for holding a meeting near Warangal. It was they who abused Chiranjeevi and threatened him with dire consequences unless he declared himself for Telengana. When Mahesh Babu was shooting a high budget picture, he was harassed and he had to shift his sets to Pondicherry.. When Hari Krishna has resigned from Rajya Sabha they have declared a boycott of his son Jr NTR's pictures. It is ironic that a picture slated to be released is produced by a Telengana man, and any boycott would ruin the distriubutors in Telengana who invested heavily.
