Vinayaka Chaviti festivities are set to begin with an increased emphasis on worshiping environment-friendly clay Ganesha idols. The festival would be celebrated on a massive scale in Hyderabad and elsewhere in Telangana with thousands of idols installed in residential colonies and apartments.


Now, we bring you a recipe on how to make Fried Modak which you can distribute as a Prasad to the devotees who worship Lord Ganesha on this special occasion. Well, it's a simple recipe. Just follow the steps below,

1. Take the basic ingredients:

1.5 tbsp clarified butter (ghee) or oil.
1.5 tsp white sesame seed (safed til)
1.5 tsp poppy seed (khus khus)
1 cup fresh grated coconut (nariyal)
½ cup powdered Or grated jaggery (I used organic jaggery powder) (gur)
1 tbsp oil.
1 t/s cardamom powder.
1 t/s nutmeg powder.

2. Mix them and stir

3. Jaggery will melt and cook for 4-5 minutes and not more as it will be too hard if not.

4. Stuff everything and make it in a plea shape

5. Now, deep fry and the prasad is ready.
