As per report the insurance program insures Uber Eats delivery partners for up to Rs 5 lakh against accidental death and permanent disability when they are on the road providing delivery services through the Uber Eats App. Meanwhile the policy also provides cover of Rs 2 lakh against medical hospitalization expenses and an outpatient cover of Rs 50,000.
Accordingly delivery partners are covered right from their first order on the Uber Eats App and this insurance cover will be offered free of cost to delivery partners. Deepak Reddy, Head of Central Operations Uber Eats India said in a statement “This insurance program is a big milestone for us at Uber Eats, and we’re excited to be launching this so early in our journey in India”. Moreover the insurance cover under this program went live on September 10, 2018 across all Uber Eats cities in India.
