According to sources train services between Bengaluru and coastal Karnataka and parts of Kerala, which were cancelled multiple landslides following heavy rains in the region, will resume from September 30. Meanwhile South Western Railway officials stated “The train services were partially or fully cancelled after over 100 landslides were reported between Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road Ghat Sections (a 56 km long stretch) over Mysuru Division since mid-August following heavy rains”.



Furthermore officials on Thursday said that they are trying to resume the affected train operations from September 30 as the restoration work of the tracks is yet to be completed. Officials had initially planned on resuming services by September 15. Presently the South Western Railway officials have cancelled the 16511/16513 KSR Bengaluru Kannur/Karwar Express departing from Bengaluru from September 20 to September 28.

Moreover 16517/16523 KSR Bengaluru - Kannur/Karwar Express starting from Bengaluru have also been cancelled for the same period. The return journeys of the trains 16512/16514 Kannur/Karwar - KSR Bengaluru Express and 16518/16524 Kannur/Karwar - KSR Bengaluru Express departing from Kannur/Karwar have been cancelled for the September 21-30 period.
