Yesterday, Perarivalan's mother Arputhammal had met the Tamilnadu governor, and during this meet, she had given him the petition demanding the recommendation to release the 7 prime accused in Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. The Supreme Court had earlier pronounced its verdict that the state governor can take the decision whether or not to recommend the release of the 7 accused in the Rajiv Gandhi murder case.
Following this, the TN cabinet had assembled, and they had decided to release them, and passed a resolution for the same, forwarding the recommendation to the TN governor as well. However, so far TN governor had not taken any decision on the Tamilnadu state government recommendation, and due to lack of announcement from his end, the release of the 7 accused has been getting delayed, and hence many had started voicing out to the governor to announce his decision sooner.
In such a scenario, Perarivalan's
mother Arputhammal had met Governor Banwarilal Purohit today, and persuaded him
to decide on the release of the 7 accused and asked him to sign the petition
demanding the release and gave a separate petition demanding his release as
well.
