From the South to the north, every state of India celebrates Dussehra in their own unique way, and here are some of the places where Dussehra festival is celebrated in unique ways. In Kolkata, the Durga Puja is celebrated with much fanfare with devotees thronging in thousands, with huge pandals constructed, and with people performing Dhunuchi dances.



Mysore Dussehra is celebrated even more grand manner, with the people of the state celebrating the death of Mahishasura, by Chamundeshwari one of the forms of Goddess Durga. Durga has always been known as a warrior Goddess, and hence people celebrate the event with competitions involving athletics, cultural acts, and military movements.


During this Dasara, the Mysore Palace will be glowing, and there will be a huge procession named Jumbo Savari.In Kulu Manali, people celebrate Dussehra by participating in Rath Yatra of Lord Raghunath. In Hyderabad, people worship Goddess Bathukamma and also worship Ganesha. In Chennai, people make a Golu, with dolls placed in steps like the setup and offered prayers.
