Navratri meaning the nine sacred days are one of the most celebrated and auspicious days as per Hinduism in the lunar calendar. All over north India, Navratri is celebrated with joy, vigor, and festivity and Hindus all over the world dedicate themselves to worshipping of goddess Durga for the whole nine days of Navratri.



The most commonly said story related to Navratri was the huge deadly battle that took ensued between goddess Durga and the egoistic and arrogant demon Mahishasura. Mahisha had been fighting against devas and had gained the boon that he can't be killed by anyone on earth.

The devas United at a mountain and brought together all their energies and powers to create goddess Durga who fought with the buffalo demon mahisha and ultimately killed him. The 9 days of the festival are attributed to the unique and distinct incarnations of goddess Durga. Every day of Navratri is linked to particular colors and devotees will wear attires of that Color to attend the festival.
