Chennai sources added that BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan ridiculed actor cum politician Kamal Hassan who sought an electoral alliance with the Congress, saying it was immaterial who sailed along with the Congress, as that party is bound to be defeated by the BJP again. Tamilisai said “It does not matter who is with the Congress the DMK or Kamal Hassan. The Congress combine is a doomed alliance because it will anyway be defeated (in the Lok Sabha election) by the BJP again”.
Meanwhile the Congress led UPA government had faced a humiliating defeat in the hands of the Narendra Modi led BJP during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Furthermore while speaking against the DMK for the first time, Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) president Kamal Hassan, floated his party earlier this year, and told a Tamil news channel that his party is ready for an alliance with the Congress if it parts ways with DMK for the 2019 Lok Sabha election.
Moreover when speaking to reporters at Manali here on Sunday the BJP president asked the veteran actor to have some concern for the well-being of the students and stop campaigning on college premises. She said “Even though there were several issues affecting the people, actors idle away their time criticizing politicians and hence this selective targeting of politicians is unacceptable”.
