The controversial Director General of Police (DGP) of Andhra Pradesh V Dinesh Reddy received a shocker with the supreme court direction to the CBI to probe into his assets . The probe order came in the wake of a petition by a rival IPS officer Umesh Kumar, another DGP rank police officer, who is hounded by Dinesh Reddy with criminal and forgery charges .
We all know of the bitter war between Dinesh Reddy and Umesh Kumar has been going on ever since Dinesh Reddy was appointed DGP. Both 1977 batch mates have been engaged in verbal duel and also petition mongering for quite some time now.Dinesh had nailed Umesh with a forgery case along with a journalist and also hoisted criminal charges in misappropriation of department funds case. Dinesh had procured court orders for even arrest of Umesh Kumar who went absconding for a day or two and surrendered in court later.
Dinesh Reddy had also procured a two years extension as DGP from Supreme Court but the CAT has ordered review of the case now as Dinesh attains super annuation by September 26, this year. The DGP hailing from Kadapa and also a close relative of former CM YSR is known for his high piolitical connections .during 2013 the DGP went on a world tour with select congress minsiters . He had been in news recently for comments that �� women if they wander improperly dressed even in villages would attract troouble.
