As per report the union minister of state for social justice and empowerment, Ramdas Athawale was slapped by a 30 old man after he finished his speech at a public event in Maharashtra on Saturday night. Meanwhile the man named Pravin Gosavi has reportedly walked towards the minister with a garland and slapped Athawale.



Furthermore quickly after that, supporters of Athawale have beaten up Pravin Gosavi and submitted him to the police officials, who later taken him to the hospital. Accordingly Ramdas Athawale is chief of Republic Party of India (RPI), which's got its hold in several parts of Maharashtra.  Meanwhile as per the initial police investigation, the attacker was found to be the former worker of RPI youth wing. Blaming it on police for not providing adequate protection, Athawale said "It was the fault of police who did not provide necessary protection & that helped assaulter to attack me."

Moreover the minister further said that he's going to meet the Chief Minister of Maharashtra regarding this incident. Reportedly in protest against the attack on Athawale, the Republic Party of India workers have gathered at his residence and raised slogans demanding the action against the man who slapped their party chief and they also went to allege that it was a 'pre-planned' attack on Ramdas Athawale.
