Bhupesh Baghel has been chosen as the Chief Minister of Chattisgarh. The congress party has made an official announcement on the same. In Chattisgarh, the Congress party has removed the 15 year long ruling by former Chief minister Raman Singh, by winning the elections, as they captured 68 constituencies out of the total 90. BJP had won in 15 seats, while Bahujan Samaj captured 2, and the rest won 5 seats.

 


Due to this Congress is all set to rule the state with majority. For the past 4 days, there was confusion over whom to choose as the CM and Thamrathwaj Sahu, Bhupesh Baghel and DS Singh were in contention for the post of CM.

As all three were important members of Congress, and all of them possessed equal support within the party, Congress was finding it difficult to choose one among them, and more than four meetings were held for this. After Rahul Gandh also conducted two meetings with them, finally, Bhupesh Baghel has been announced as the CM of Chattisgarh.
