They help the handicapped achieve their desire to be independent by performing tasks that are physically demanding.
Canines Can Care paired a young Labrador – Magic, with Sanam Karunakar in Hyderabad to show case its success mantra to give physically challenged personsw with life of independence,self esteem and confidence. Sanam Karunakar a college girl was involved in a car accident, which claimed both her parents and left her paralyzed from the chest to below .
Canines Can Care pioneered the concept of Assistance dogs in India was founded by Shirin Merchant afully accredited member of the KCAI(Kennel Club of England) - holding an accreditation in Companion Dog Training and Behavioral Training at the advanced level. A fully trained assist dog can understand up to fifty commands and carry out are : picking up dropped objects, fetching the telephone, covering owner with a blanket, barking for help, loading and unloading washing machines, switching lights on and off and opening doors.
