DGP V Dinesh Reddy is to retire by end of September is in news again ,this time for hoisting criminal cases agaisnt some telugu channels for airing footage of his public visit to the home of a sooth sayer and god man of Old city on Thursday.

Media covered the visit by DGP in his official convoy of three scorpios along with Charminar DCP of Task force Linga Reddy to the home of godman Habib Mustafa Udrus Baba at Fatesh Darwaza in the old city.The visuals of his visit allegedly for seeking counsel to ward of CBI probe and also blessings to beget extension in service had enraged the DGP who got his officials to hoist cases Z-24 ghantalu .It is not known as to whether he had got cases filed against The Hindu which had published his photo of bowing to the godmen on its front page .
As police officials of CCS and Saifabad raided the new channel offices,the Telangana and city crime reporters association members staged a dharna at DGP office and demanded withdrawal of the cases and stop the raids . Official sources said DGP went to Baba with some files as he always wanted government to extend his tenure by another year .But Kiran Government has been silent so far . In the Past N D Tiwari, union minister S B Chavan and C KJaffer Sharief had been visitors to Baba on personal problems.
