The TN Forest department is getting ready to capture the elephant Chinnathambi who's now in Udumalai. Chinnathambi, was earlier in Thadagam forests of Coimbatore,before being  transported by the forest department back to Varakazhiyar forests, however, Chinnathambi elephant walked back more than hundred kilometers to Udumalai. Even on Udumalai return, Chinnathambi did not disturb public.

 


Recently the Chennai high court ordered against making Chinnathambi into a Kumki, and in recent hearing court had ordered to capture him. Decision on leaving him in forest or keeping him in camp will be taken only after capturing him, and forest department chief officer will make the decision.

High court said strictly not to harass Chinnathambi and now the forest officials are on the lookout for Chinnathambi. Meanwhile, Forest department is taking all necessary steps to get rid of the Chinnathambi elephant. The Kumki elephants which were bought to get rid of Chinnathambi are also useless as they too joined with him.
