The huge corporate firm Adani group has been given the contract to maintain and manage five national airports like Mangalore and Trivandrum. Adani groups work with Gujarat's Ahmedabad as the headquarters. Government had decided to give airport maintenance works to private and for this 32 companies have applied tender to acquire the project.
This project involved maintenance and management of Trivandrum, Mangalore, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow and Ahmedabad airports for a time span of 50 years, and Adani has acquired 5 airports contracts for 50 years, except Guwahati. Within 90 days the contract will be given to Adani groups completely and after various fields now Adanis have entered even aviation sector through this contract.
This news has shocked most of them and there are lots of questions thrown against the BJP government. However, there has been muted response so far. A case has been lodged under RTI regarding this issue. Let's see if anything pop's up.
