A Pakistan citizen filed a petition at the last minute in the Islamabad High Court to stop the release of the captured IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. The Pakistan citizen has mentioned that he did a crime and he should be put on a trial.
The court which heard his petition dismissed the plea. There are reports that the IAF Pilot Abhinandan will be sent back through Aerial route and not through Wagah Land border. But Pakistan confirmed that he will be returned only through the Attari-Wagah border.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh confirmed that he will not be going to Wagah to receive the pilot as he never got any response from the Centre. The Commander's family are on their way to Amritsar and they have been told the exact time and sequence of the release.
