According to sources President Ram Nath Kovind landed in the textile city on Sunday and security in Coimbatore, Tamilnadu has been stepped up in view of his two day visit and the city police have announced traffic diversions. Meanwhile the President’s engagements here include the presentation of colors to two units of the Indian Air Force and also to participate as chief guest for Maha Shivaratri celebrations organized by Isha Yoga Center.



Furthermore the former was organized at the Air Force Station in Sulur here on Monday morning and the latter was hosted at the Velliangiri foothills on the outskirts here from Monday evening to Tuesday early hours. Reportedly “More than 5,000 police personnel are providing security cover to the President during his two day stay at the Circuit House here. Apparently nearly 2,000 police personnel will create security cover for President Kovind in the city limits and another 3,700 police personnel will be on-duty for the two scheduled visits of the President”.

Moreover vehicles heading to the Isha Foundation from Mettupalayam must reach Boluvampatti via Avinashilingam University, GCT junction, Lawley road, P N Pudur and Vadavalli. Also vehicles from Avinashi road must reach Cowley brown road through brook bond road and are advised to use the same lawley road, P.N Pudur, Vadavalli route to reach Isha Yoga Center. Police said when the President returns to Circuit house after attending the Maha Shivratri celebrations, the Circuit House road will be closed for public.
